The foremost goal of the Central Florida Dance Award is to bring the Central Florida dance community together. By recognizing excellence in dance, we also hope to:

  • Inspire and support dance artists and organizations
  • Generate interest among dance artists and dance organizations and the community
  • Promote diversity
  • Celebrate dance
  • Promote visibility
  • Energize the community and dance professionals
  • Promote the future of Central Florida dance


NOMINATING GUIDELINES

  • Only nominees who have contributed to dance in Central Florida will be considered.
  • All nominations must include the name of the nominee, appropriate phone numbers, and the reason for the nomination.
  • Nominations may ONLY be for an INDIVIDUAL - NOT organizations.
  • You may, if you wish, nominate multiple individuals. Each individual nominated must be submitted separately.
  • Text is limited to the space available on the form or an attached, typed sheet with no more than 200 words. Additional material or text will not be accepted.
  • It only takes one nomination for a nominee to be considered. Multiple nominations will not affect the outcome.
  • Self-nominations are permissible.
  • Posthumous nominations are encouraged.
  • All nominations must be submitted by the posted deadline in order to qualify.
  • The Central Florida Dance Award is given at the sole discretion of the Central Florida Dance Award Assessment Panel whose decision is final.

WHO SHOULD BE NOMINATED?

Please nominate an individual you feel has had an overall, positive impact on Dance in Central Florida. Ultimately, the recipient of the award will have helped dance reach a higher standard in Central Florida. We encourage nominations of those who fit this model including:
